Runner mid-stride in the Aera Trainers

Cool on top, soft underneath.

Breathable where it counts. Cushioned where it lands.

Some days it's the concrete floor by 3pm. Some days it's the dark road at 5:30am. Either way, your feet are the first thing to quit.

Most everyday runners go flat fast and trap heat — so your feet cook on the walk and pound on the run, and the 'comfort' you paid for is gone in a fortnight.

The Aera runs an open engineered-mesh upper over a lightweight EVA midsole, with a curved rocker sole that rolls you onto your toes and a rubber-reinforced outsole on the wear points. Air moves through the top; the midsole soaks up the impact instead of sending it up your legs — and the reinforced outsole means it doesn't wear out in a hurry.

For the ones on the concrete all shift, the ones lacing up first thing in the dark, and the ones easing back into a jog as it warms up — a shoe that runs light and still looks fine in town.

Cool on top, soft underneath. Gear that earns its keep.

  • Back into Parkrun after a couple of years off. Light enough that I actually run in them instead of trudging, and I wear them to the shops after. Feet don't cook either.

    Marcus, Adelaide SA

  • 5:30 walks before the kids are up. Got the kit with the headlight, so the dark and the shoes were one order. Mesh doesn't hold the sweat like my old runners did.

    Nadia, Perth WA

  • I've bought three 'comfortable' pairs before that did nothing after a month. Expected the same here. The bounce is in the shoe, not a squishy insole that dies — first pair that's actually held up on the concrete at work.

    Trish, Bendigo VIC

The Aera difference.

Three things that earn their keep.

Aera soft-bounce midsole in use

Lightweight EVA midsole + rocker.

Lands soft, pushes off easy

A lighter EVA midsole takes the impact so it doesn't travel up your legs, and the curved rocker sole rolls you onto your toes for an easy push-off. Soft landing, quick roll — not a flat, dead step.

Open engineered mesh.

Air moves, feet stay dry

The upper is an open engineered mesh, so air passes straight through instead of trapping heat. On a warm walk or a hot-footed run, that's the difference between dry and swimming.

Everyday build.

Light on the run, easy in town

Light enough for easy runs and Parkrun distances, plain enough to keep on for the rest of the day. One shoe, not a gym-bag-only shoe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does this do?

The Aera is a breathable running trainer: an open engineered-mesh upper moves air across your foot, and a soft-bounce cushioned midsole absorbs the impact so it doesn't land straight in your legs. Cool on top, soft underneath — for the run, the walk and everything in between.

I've bought 'comfortable' shoes before that did nothing — why is this different?

Fair. Most 'comfort' shoes are a soft insole in a flat shoe, and it packs down in a fortnight. The Aera's give is a lightweight EVA midsole, and the outsole is rubber-reinforced on the wear points — so it holds its bounce and doesn't grind down fast. Still not right in 30 days? Full refund.

Will they hold up if I'm on my feet all day?

That's what the EVA midsole is for — it carries the impact of a full day on hard floors instead of a footbed that quits by lunch, and the rubber-reinforced outsole takes the grind so they last.

Can I actually run in these, or are they more casual?

Both. Light enough for easy runs and Parkrun distances, plain enough to wear the rest of the day. They're an everyday trainer, not a carbon-plated race shoe — if you're chasing a marathon PB, this isn't that.

I run before sunrise or after dark — do these help me be seen?

The shoe won't light you up on its own. The Aera Kit pairs it with an LED headlight ($39 in the kit, normally $69) so you can see the path and be seen — one order instead of two.

How do they fit, and what if I get the size wrong?

They run true to size — check the size chart against your foot length in cm before ordering. It's a unisex shoe: the chart lists the men's and women's US size for each length, so pick the row that matches your foot. If they're not right, you've got 30 days to send them back for a full refund. We don't cover return postage on a wrong-size order, so measure first.

How long does shipping take?

We offer free shipping within AU. Standard delivery takes 5–12 business days. You'll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships.

What if I'm not happy?

30-day money-back guarantee. Full refund, no questions asked.
