Stook Ultralight 1-Person Tent
Let’s be honest: nobody actually enjoys carrying a 3kg tent up a hill. If you’re at the age where your knees have started giving you "feedback" every time you step off a gutter, you need to shed some weight.
The Stook is for the solo hiker who wants to keep things simple. It weighs about 900g. To put that in perspective, that’s less than a full litre of water. It achieves this by ditching the heavy fibreglass poles. Instead, you use your own trekking poles to prop the thing up.
Don't own any? No dramas. We sell solid hiking poles right here at Folks Outdoors. We reckon it’s a better move than wandering around the bush looking for a stick that’s straight enough to stut your shelter. Without poles, this tent is basically just a very expensive nylon blanket.
The pyramid design is basic but bloody effective. It sheds wind well and, more importantly, keeps the rain off your face. With a 3000mm rating on the fly and 5000mm on the floor, you’ll stay dry even when the sky decides to open up properly.
The Reality Check:

No Poles Included: As mentioned, it runs on trekking poles (120-130cm). Remember to grab a set if you don't have them, or you’ll be sleeping under a pancake.

Solo Means Solo: There’s room for you and your gear. If you’re exceptionally tall or like to star-fish while you sleep, it’ll be cozy.

Condensation: It’s a single-skin hybrid style. Open the vents or you’ll wake up a bit damp from your own breath. That’s not the tent’s fault; it’s physics.
